Denise Presson : Co-Host

Denise Presson is 41 years old and currently resides at Denver Women’s Correctional Facility. She has served 12 years of a 42 year sentence. Denise is a proud mother of 15 year old Kiya. Denise continues to evolve owing her transformation to the many programs and activities she is passionate about, including being a DU PAI Group Leader. Her dog training, love of nature and personal growth are her daily sources of strength. Denise wants people to know that “it’s the people that people imagine nothing of who do the things that no one imagines.”

Andrew Draper : Co-Executive Producer, Co-Host and Head Sound Engineer

Andrew Draper has been incarcerated in the Colorado Department of Corrections for the past 12 years and has a passion for assisting at-risk-youth and using his life to help others. Andrew is a DU PAI group leader, co-founder of Restore — a group committed to actively restoring healing in communities that have experienced harm by incarcerated people. Andrew is a published artist and the artist behind DU PAI’s daily art journal Sojourn. Andrew is a super cool guy if you get to know him.

Ashley Hamilton : Co-Executive Producer

Dr. Ashley Hamilton is an assistant professor in the Department of Theater at the University of Denver and is also Co-Founder and Executive Director of the DU Prison Arts Initiative (DU PAI). Ashley has been working within the United States’ correctional system for a decade as an educator and artist and has taught and created various educational and artistic projects in over two dozen prisons in the United States, and has worked with over a thousand incarcerated people and their family members. Ashley has created and overseen several exciting, innovative projects for the CDOC including the With(in) podcast, two prison theatre tours, The Inside Report -- a statewide prison newspaper, the historic Artistic Justice arts-based workshop tour and more. Ashley holds a BFA in Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters degree and PhD in Educational and Applied Theatre from New York University. Ashley is committed to using the arts to create spaces of transformation and possibility.

Terry Wayne Mosley Jr. : Producer and Segment Host

Terry Wayne Mosley Jr. is 42 years old and is currently incarcerated at Sterling Correctional Facility. Terry has been incarcerated since October of 1998. Terry is a proud DU PAI Group Leader and the Artistic and Development Manager for DU PAI at SCF. Working as Producer for Season 2 of With(in) has been a huge gift. Terry is a grateful and humble part of the transformational Artistic Justice team for DU PAI. Terry is committed to “the work” it takes to heal and learn what it means to be in community, and most of all, in relationship.

William S. Graham : Resident Poet for Will’s Corner

William is 37 years old and currently resides at the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center (DRDC). He has served 18 years of a 72-year sentence. William has a gift for writing and has published eleven books. He is the founder of A.L.O.T greeting cards and is also a hip-hop artist (his recorded music can be found on YouTube at “Icarusgang”). He is a member of and group leader for DU PAI. William is passionate about helping others through peer mentorship. Something William wants folks to know: “I strive to change the world and impact others.”

Angel L. Lopez : Media Production, Creative Support and Segment Host

Angel is 46 years old and currently resides at Sterling Correctional Facility. He has served 20 years on a life sentence. Angel enjoys playing basketball, attending church, staying fit, and providing a listening ear for those around him. He is a DU PAI Group Leader and resident videographer for DU PAI. He is also the photographer and video manager at Sterling and holds a master handler certificate through the dog training program. Angel is passionate about his work with R.E.S.T.O.R.E, where he is a core member, and has conducted programming with Youth Offender Services — Angel aims to motivate youth in prison that they still have a choice in how they shape their tomorrow. Angel is originally from Puerto Rico and served in the military for five years. Something Angel wants folks to know: “In 2013, I was honored to meet the father of my victim through a mediated Victim-Offender Dialogue. His son liked helping others and this has served as fuel for me to carry out his legacy by showing others that true remorse is lived, not just spoken.”

Brett Phillips : Segment Host

Brett is 51 years old and has served 12 years of a 38 year sentence at Sterling Correctional Facility. He is a DU PAI Group Leader and co-editor of Reverberations, DU PAI’s literary arts magazine. He is committed to his faith, his family and his desire to be an agent of healing. He believes in being the change he wants to see in the world (thank you Ghandi). Something he wants the world to know is that people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Matthew LaBonte : Segment Host

Matthew LaBonte is a 45 year old study in contradictions. As a student and group leader of DU PAI, he is dedicated to learning effective ways to build relationships and systems that serve his immediate community in connecting with themselves, each other, and hopefully for most, the world at large. Matt is a co-editor of Reverberations, DU PAI’s literary arts magazine. He brings a love of words — written, spoken, sung, or dreamed into the far reaches of our minds — to bear in this search. Matt is the head of script creation for the play If Light Closed Its Eyes. He has served 15 years of his 48 year sentence. Something he wants the world to know is that compassion for others is often the best balm for our own wounds.

Travis Barnes: Creative Music Producer and Segment Host

Travis Rashad Barnes is one of the Editors’ In Chief of The Denver Complex S.U.R.G.E. Media production Team, he is a DU PAI Group Leader and a segment host and the Creative Music Producer for the With(in) Podcast, and he also an aspiring entrepreneur with a few viable business ventures in the works. His interests are: Biblical Theology, Astronomy, Computers, Aviation, Music Composition and Production, Poetry, Cinematography, Audio Engineering, Saddle Making/Leather Working, and Philanthropy. Through his creative expressions, Travis aims to unveil the majesty of the glory of God while commanding all people everywhere to change their minds about God in order to enter into an a personal and intimate relationship with Father through our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. In his music, Travis draws from his experiences in order to share his the contents of his heart in a way that is honorable, creative and redemptive.

Sean J. Marshall: Associate Producer, Resident Artist and Segment Host

Sean J. Marshall is a 37 year old author, artist and entrepreneur currently serving out a 45 year sentence. As a proud DU PAI Group Leader, associate producer and resident artist for With(in), he strives to use his voice, example and artistries to inspire, teach, uplift and connect as many people as he can. For years Sean has served as a mentor and leader within the CDOC. And, when asked why he has committed himself to a path of redemption, he has the following to say: “It’s all about legacy. Whether I’m fated to spend the rest of my existence in prison or not, I will no longer waste my gifts and talents nor use my influence to misguide. Too much of my life has been wasted venturing down the wrong paths in life. I owe it to my victims, my mom, my daughter and countless others to spend the rest of my days on earth trying to rebuild all that I’ve destroyed. I’m dedicated to becoming the best man I can be.”
